Whats the difference between Celotex GA4000 and TB4000?
The major difference in Celotex GA4000 is that it comes in the size options of 50mm-100mm while the Celotex TB4000 comes in thicknesses ranging from 12-40mm, making it the thinnest PIR insulation available, in a standard board size of 1200mm x 2400mm.
What is the R-value of Celotex?
Celotex GA4000 specifications
GA4000 boards | GA4050 | GA4070 |
---|---|---|
R-value (m²K/W) | 2.25 | 3.15 |
Thickness (mm) | 50 | 70 |
Width (mm) | 1200 | 1200 |
Length (mm) | 2400 | 2400 |
What is Celotex insulation used for?
Celotex provides a range of general-purpose insulation boards that can be used in masonry walls, pitched roofs, flat roofs and more.
What type of insulation is Celotex?
polyisocyanurate
What is Celotex Made From? Celotex insulation boards are PIR, (polyisocyanurate), which is produced as foam and used as rigid insulation. This rigid core is usually sandwiched between two aluminium foil facings that are high performance, thus creating a tough, hard wearing yet lightweight insulation board.
Are Celotex and Kingspan the same?
Celotex and Kingspan are the names of manufacturers that offer very similar insulation products. The individual products will of course vary, both in terms of how they can be used and the size of each.
What is a good r number for insulation?
Typical recommendations for exterior walls are R-13 to R-23, while R-30, R-38 and R-49 are common for ceilings and attic spaces. See the Department of Energy’s (DOE) ranges for recommended levels of insulation below.
What is the best R-value?
Recommended insulation levels for retrofitting existing wood-framed buildings
Zone | Add Insulation to Attic | |
---|---|---|
Uninsulated Attic | Existing 3–4 Inches of Insulation | |
1 | R30 to R49 | R25 to R30 |
2 | R30 to R60 | R25 to R38 |
3 | R30 to R60 | R25 to R38 |
Is Celotex good insulation?
90mm Celotex or equivalent will give the best insulation, it’s insulation factor is about twice that of Rockwool. But it needs cutting which takes time and is messy. Rockwool might be easier to install, although you have to keep it in place somehow and if installed vertically ain’t so simple. Its also cheaper.
Is Celotex insulation waterproof?
Is Celotex Waterproof? Yes, Celotex insulation is designed to effectively fight excess moisture in the air. This is thanks to the closed cell structure of their products, which makes them hydrophobic; meaning they do not absorb water.
What thickness is Celotex?
It comes in a variety of thicknesses from 50-100mm and achieves an A+ rating when compared to the BRE Green Guide. The Celotex TB4000 Insulation Board is another high performance PIR that can be as thin as 12mm. Perfect for overcoming thermal bridging and in two-layer build ups, including between and under rafters.
