Download any available updates to a USB drive. Insert the USB drive into one of your vehicle’s USB ports. Navigate to the “Settings” menu on your iDrive system. Click on “Software Update” and follow the steps that appear on screen.

- Run the WinKFP software and choose F3:- Update ZUSB.
- Choose the type of ECU, then the chosen ECU will appear with a list of part numbers.
- Choose OK, then the main menu re-appears.
- Choose VIN, then enter your vehicle’s VIN number and then click OK.
- Click Done.
- Choose Prog.
Can I add CarPlay to my BMW?

Can I update iDrive 6 to 7?
Since the MY2020 cars are basically iDrive 6 cars with the iDrive 7 head unit in theory an iDrive 6 car can actually be upgraded aftermarket to iDrive 7, but the iDrive 7 cars are too new to serve as donor cars to harvest from.
