How do I reload my Freeview?
While it may vary slightly depending on which device you have, it usually includes the following steps:
- Press menu on your box or TV remote control.
- Select set up, installation, update, or a similar option.
- Select first-time installation (sometimes called factory reset, full retune or default settings).
How can I get more Freeview channels UK?
To get the maximum amount of channels on the Freeview app it’s simple – you just need to download all the players:
- BBC iPlayer (BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four, CBBC, CBeebies, BBC News, BBC Parliament – live and on demand)
- ITV Hub (ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, ITVBe, CITV – live and on demand)
Can I get Freeview online?
In addition to viewing your favourite programmes through live TV you can also watch Freeview on a connected TV via Freeview Play, on mobile phones and tablets through our mobile app or online via our TV Guide on the Freeview website.
Do I need to retune Freeview?
You should retune your TV or box regularly – perhaps two to three times a year. When you retune, your Freeview device scans for new channels or updates to existing channels, which means you’re receiving all the channels available and getting the best out of Freeview in your area.
Why can’t I get Freeview on my TV?
If you bought your TV or recorder before 2016 it probably doesn’t have Freeview Play. This is because Freeview Play isn’t a downloadable service, but instead needs equipment that’s already installed with it. You can add it to your current TV by connecting it to a Freeview Play recorder.
What’s the difference between Freeview and Freeview Plus?
Similar to Netflix or Stan, Freeview lets you watch video on demand – but unlike Netflix or Stan, it’s completely free. Also part of Freeview Plus is a detailed 7-day electronic program guide that allows you to schedule recordings and set reminders for your favourite programs.
Why can’t I get all Freeview channels on my TV?
Not all Freeview channels have their own apps, and even if they do have one, they might not have live content that we can link to. Also not all programmes are licensed to be streamed via mobile. We’re working on this, though, and will let you know when we’ve brought more partners on board.
