Lightly mark the wall with a pencil at the point where the ruler or book (or other flat object) meets your head. Use a tape measure — ideally a metal one that will remain straight — to measure the distance from the floor to the mark on the wall.

Are Stadiometer accurate?

Both digital and analog stadiometers take highly accurate measurements, but digital versions take exact measurements that require no rounding or approximation, which helps reduce the likelihood of human error.

I believe that measuring tapes use the imperial scale, so although it is pretty accurate, you will get different results if you use other methods.
