Brotherhood of Steel Curie and Danse like the Brotherhood. Cait, Piper, Nick, Preston, and Strong dislike working with them. Doing quests for the Brotherhood can raise affinity but only for those in your party who are neutral towards that faction.

Siding with the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute in the endgame sequence will flag the player character an enemy of the Railroad, resulting in the loss of Deacon as a companion and turning him hostile.

The Coursers can do it – but you originally couldn’t. Now you can! All you have to do is fast travel to The Institute, and your companion will join you!

Can you bring valentine to the institute?

No companions can enter the institute, only the sole survivor. That’s the most that can be said without spoilers. I will also add that while they won’t accompany you into the institute, they still count as accompanying you for purposes of the lone wanderer perk, unless that has been patched.
