Lyra’s mother’s husband, a politician, finds out about the affair and the fact that Lyra is still alive. He flies down to Oxfordshire where she is. Lord Asriel rolls up to defend his baby, challenges the man, and ends up killing him. A lawsuit ensues, and while Lord Asriel isn’t imprisoned, they take all of his money.

John Faa, more often referred to as Lord Faa, was the ruler of the western gyptians. His dæmon was a crow. John played a large part in negotiating the trade between the landlopers and the gyptians.

Iorek Byrnison Iorek and Lee first met in Novy Odense sharing a common enemy. They bonded afterwards, a friendship that would last until Lee died in battle. As a sign of friendship and respect, Iorek was the one who devoured the remains of Lee’s body meaning the two would be together.
Was Mrs Coulter separate from her daemon?
Most notably Coulter is apparently able to separate from her daemon (i.e. they can survive far apart without pain), which is an ability normally only open to witches, but more generally she also seems to have a more fractious relationship with her daemon than other characters.
