What is power play on Powerball?

How is Power play multiplier determined?

The Power Play multiplier is selected prior to the televised Powerball drawing using a random number generator with weighted values for each multiplier option. For each draw there are 24-2X values; 13-3X values; 3-4X values; and 2-5X values. When jackpots are below $150 Million, a 10X value is added.
