How do I audition for Hspva?
To apply, you must complete an application AND submit audition material.
- Step 1: Apply at HISDCHOICE.com. At Section 8.1 choose “Magnet / Vanguard” and check “Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA).”

Is it hard to get into Hspva?
The picture for high school admissions is a little brighter with roughly 33% of applicants gaining admission. This year the most competitive school was Bellaire with a 10% acceptance rate followed by HSPVA (17%) and Carnegie Vanguard (19%).
How do you become a kinder Hspva?
All students interested in applying to Kinder HSPVA must apply at www.hisdchoice.com by November 18, 2021, and submit audition materials by December 3, 2021. We do not have separate auditions for out-of-district students. Applicants will be notified of their status in late January, 2022.
