Why do humans wear animal hats in Adventure Time?
Because humans are delicious. As for Hyoomans, they are mutated and not fully human, but they are human enough to be mistaken as humans, so maybe they taste the same, hence they wear hats too. Hats are used as a costume, to fool predators (seems like everyone) into thinking they are some cute, harmelss, bipedal animal.
